Folk Art Decorative Painting… a reminder of the richness of the traditions of the past..

My love & passion for decorative painting has grown with each passing year. . My family history is full of artistic talent from my father who did workworking and painting his own designs; to my Grandmother who won prizes and first place ribbons at local craft/art shows. I'm proud to own one of her original paintings of a beautiful peacock design done on black velvet as well as many of my father's wood designs of santas, reindeer and sleigh sets, kitchen signs and hand crafted picture frames.
With a profound love for all things shabby chic & old and pretty I began painting in 2002 and concentrated on roses until I came up with my own rose design. I'm basically a self-taught artist. But along the path of my painting passion I have studied under many of the wonderful artists such as Ros Stallcup, Donna Lee Parella, Donna Dewberry and Priscilla Hauser.
I began teaching decorative painting to friends and family in 2003 and currently hold beginner and intermediate technique classes in my home studio on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings 9 am - 12 pm. On the second Saturday each month I hold an all day workshop beginning at 10 am through 4 pm, with an hour break for lunch. All beginners and new painters are welcome to attend the open style classroom for tips & technique practice. Click on the 'Workshops' link for details - cost and upcoming dates.
